Re: Unwanted opening of tabs

Finally today, following some online research, I tried downloading and adapting an AutoHotKey script to replace the functions of the Microsoft Mouse & Keyboard Centre, and it actually works! Now I can press any of those Favorite keys or the Calculator key, and just have the respective program ru...

Re: Unwanted opening of tabs

I should also mention that I've checked in FC's keyboard shortcut settings, and find that I have no keyboard settings for opening tabs, either default or custom. I've checked that Ctl-T doesn't open any tabs in FC, while it definitely does in my browser (Pale Moon). Actually I'd really like an optio...

Re: Unwanted opening of tabs

Thanks indeed for suggestions, though at the moment none of them seems to have taken me forward. I've been experimenting and found that the only keys on this M$ Natural keyboard that cause the current folder in FC to be loaded in a tab are the five custom preset ones and the Calculator one. The latt...

Unwanted opening of tabs

I'm getting on great with FC XE x64, and keep it up-to-date, but have had one little annoyance for probably a couple of months. On the odd occasion I'd find that something I'd been doing on the touchpad or keyboard had resulted in a new tab being opened in FC's active pane. It took until today for m...

Re: Multi-rename - need to prevent scroll changing fields!

Thank you, Marek, for fixing this - very helpful! I can confirm that the fix works. Actually I personally would prefer to have no scrolling in the fields even when the mouse / trackpad cursor is on the focused field, though of course scrolling of the drop-down list of saved entries for a field needs...

Re: Multi-rename - need to prevent scroll changing fields!

Well, I'm blowed! I hadn't noticed that Multi Rename had an Undo facility! That's brilliant! I hope I'll remember that if I get a multi-rename operation go pear-shaped again. This evening, once I'd restored the files I used a workaround in order to do the quite tricky regex multi-rename - I simply t...

Multi-rename - need to prevent scroll changing fields!

I love FC, and generally its Multi-Rename, but that function has just screwed up the names of virtually all my sound recordings (a LOT of them), so I'll have to restore them all from a backup because there's no way that I can restore the naming without a huge individual manual naming spree! This is ...

Re: Status bar now too deep

Actually, just thinking about it, that's really not the end of the issue, because then the question is why having 'wrappable' enabled causes an unnecessary empty text line space. I would be inclined to regard this as a bug, for correct operation of 'wrappability' would simply add the extra line dept...

Re: Status bar now too deep

Brilliant - that's it! I assume, then, that that setting crept in recently, and was enabled by default - for I have never knowingly encountered that setting before, and thus have not changed it at any point. Many thanks for the quick and easy solution!

Status bar now too deep

In a recent FC XE build (can't remember which), the status bar gained an additional, empty, text line depth, and that hasn't changed with subsequent builds. Maybe that extra space is used for some functions that I don't use in FC? - Anyway, I would much prefer not to have that waste of space unless ...

Re: How to prevent file jumping to renamed position

I second this. Individually renaming a succession of files is quite tiresome because of that instant repositioning.

Drag and drop to and from FC now works!

It's nice to report success where there has previously been consistent failure! For a long, long time I'd been unable to drag / drop items from FC to the Desktop or other programs, and usually from those into FC - but since I 'upgraded' from Win8 to 8.1 I can now drag and drop freely to and from FC....

Re: Disable the Big Icon that follows the cursor while dragg

I looked again at that Drag&Drop tab in the File / Folder operations settings, and I realized that there is an option for a popup menu for left click drop. I've just tested that, and I do have to say I wish I'd found that yonks ago, because that is really brilliant! That is a great safeguard aga...

Re: Disable the Big Icon that follows the cursor while dragg

Thank you for sorting this one out! I myself had been troubled by that horrible large icon, and have now abolished it in FC, thanks to this thread. I still get it in Windows Explorer, though, but there, instead of just a '+' or arrow, Explorer says 'Copy to [foldername]' or 'Open with [program name]...

Re: Drag and drop into FC from desktop not working

-- Yes, and I still have that problem, and it's 100% consistent, which is a continual frustration - have to go up a folder level, then right-click on the folder and choose Open, to open it in Explorer, and then I can drag and drop into that! But FC is so brilliant otherwise!
