Re: 790a installed in "FreeCommanderXE" "without space"

When I ran install, on the screen it showed/ asked where fc is to be installed. My pc was showing there "without space". I changed that to add a space.

I am free user, so it is 32-bit until you make 64-bit available to non-donors.
:-)
Thanks.

Re: starting trouble - can't start due to api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll

One query. Several program carry required vc++ in the installer, and install that along with software, so that vc++ problem is not there. what vc++ versions are required for fc? Can there download location from MS site be given at the download page of fc? or, even better, can they be clubbed in the ...

Re: starting trouble - can't start due to api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll

good news, I uninstalled office 2016-64 bit, and installed office 2013-32 bit (that is what I had), and the problem is gone with word/ excell, as well as with fc. seems that setup has installed the file that missing. now that that file is there, some day I will try uninstalling 2013 and installing 2...

790a installed in "FreeCommanderXE" "without space"

790a just released installed in "FreeCommanderXE" "without space" (not in "FreeCommander XE") I had previously said that some releases install in FreeCommanderXE and some in FreeCommander XE As I had faced that issue, I remembered to check the folder name and manually added a space there so that goe...

Re: starting trouble - can't start due to api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll

of course it is windows problem. I had downloaded Windows8.1-KB2999226-x64.msu first it wouldn't install, then I searched net, and tried some methods and then it got installed, and all vc++ 2015 to 2017 got installed, but the problem remains, in fc as well as in ms office itself. so this direction o...

starting trouble - can't start due to api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll

I am on w8.1-64-bit fc790 32 bit public when I installed w8.1 afresh on a new hdd, and then installed fc, it installed, but on double clicking the icon to run, it gives the following message: https://i.imgur.com/1qshTGG.jpg The program can't start because api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll is missing...

on running it, task bar icon is not made bigger

I have pinned fc icon on task bar, but When I run, the task bar icon is not made bigger, and another longer fc tab appears on task bar. That makes it two indications for fc in taskbar. Now the originally pinned fc icon is no use and we can click on longer fc tab indicator on task bar to bring the fc...

Re: fc didn't carry settings on update

I am public version user and I have installers of 716, 730, 740, 760, 770 and 786. one of these has changed the folder name. I have been using fc for years, and all my settings and backups are according to default folder names put by installer, so it is unlikely that I had manually changed that on s...

Re: A huge thumbnail blocks view in drag move/copy

My fc has that option ticked. This huge thumbnail is blocking view, I can't see what folder it is going to get dropped in. it is inconvenient. https://imgur.com/zFPwx38 It happens in windows also, though I have "always show icon and not thumbnails" ticked in windows folder options. With this, I gues...

A huge thumbnail blocks view in drag move/copy

I am recently noticing that when I select certain files/ folders and drag them to move/ copy to somewhere, a huge thumbnail icon appears at mouse point that hides the view in the folder-tree and file-list panes and I am not able to see where my mouse is pointing to. So eventually I have to drop "app...

wow. This too.

It is even more convenient than in Windows, that has no direct icon or option anywhere to open powershell directly.

Thanks a lot.

Re: no way to open Command Prompt (Admin) from within fc

That is already there. :-)

Thanks a gig.

We have to define it. I don't know how many could do this. I wouldn't have been able to do it without your screenshot.

it would have been convenient to have it predefined in Tools menu, right below good old "Dos Box", that we remember very well by now.

no way to open Command Prompt (Admin) from within fc

Also, I had previously mentioned but got no response, but I face difficulty because there is no way to open Command Prompt (Admin) though fc. the dos box opened through is without Admin rights. So, I had to open that through Start - Command Prompt (Admin) , and then I have to change to the partition...
