Re: How to use FTP via FC?

Thanks for the web ftp primer. But the point of using ftp through FC is to use the folder sync tool. If I just want to ftp I use FileZilla.

Re: How to use FTP via FC?

The old 2009 version has been replaced with the new 2014 XE version and the old version will be no longer developed, only basic support will be available in "General Discussion" forum in "FreeCommander (old version)" section. The new 2014 XE version has more new features and opt...

Re:

When I set ftp path on server as root,it doesn't work. But , if I set ftp path on server as a folder such as "/test", it can work. I don't know it is a bug or not? Assuming I can get FTP to work, will folder sync work across the connection? If not, from what I've tried so far, FileZilla i...

ahk_l macro for FreeCommander 2009.02b

I wrote a simple ahk macro for FreeCommander 2009.02b. It sits in the task tray. When an Explorer window is active, the 2 hotkeys are enabled. Left Shift Enter and Right Shift Enter. The hotkeys accomplish the same thing as dragging folders from Explorer to the tab bar to show them in a tab. I just ...

Re: Will we ever see a 64bit version of FreeCommander?

I assume to go 64 bit will require different development tools. I've tried the XE version a couple of times. But the different look kind of throws me. I'd like to see 64 bit with the same look as 2009.02b. I guess it's not possible. Until XE has Multi-Rename Tool enabled I don't think I'll have much...

Thanks for the info. I tried a bunch of drags but I didn't have "always keep one tab open" set. Works nicely. :)

New Tab Targets

I often find that I have some Explorer windows open while I'm using FreeCommander. It would be really cool if there were "New Tab Targets" on Left and Right side so that I could just drag a folder from an Explorer window onto the target with the mouse. Then on that side a New Tab would ope...

Re: Command-Line Arguments

It is good to know this! ifound from google search this page but I use layouts to save tabs and panes and tree et. al. Can layout be caused from arguments?? I also use layouts. At the moment I'm using an AutoIt3 program to launch FreeCommander, wait for it to open, then send the Alt-1 key to use th...

Re: How to display native Windows Explorer context menu?

I suspect what happens afa getting 64 bit OS to display the 32 bit context menu by launching a 32 bit copy of explorer, is that MS for unknown reasons have killed their own work-around. Evidently the hard link that is C:\Windows\SysWow64\explorer.exe does not always point to a 32 bit copy of explore...

Re: How to display native Windows Explorer context menu?

The short question is, in Windows 7 64 bit retail(I say retail because it's my understanding the work-around still functioned in the W7 64 bit beta,) do you see the 32 bit shell extensions inside FreeCommander or not? Short answer: YES. 32bit shell extensions are displayed correctly (at least I hav...

Re: How to display native Windows Explorer context menu?

Since those on this thread are aware of the 64 bit vs. 32 bit context menu question, I'm wondering if anyone knows if the 32 bit context menu on Windows 7 64 bit retail comes through in FreeCommander? I have Vista64 and I know it works there, but I'm seeing stuff that Microsoft has killed it's own w...

Undo and if somehow possible, a 64 bit version, I think would put FreeCommander back on top. I hang out on a board where all you hear about for favorite file manager is D.O. When I look through the list of features, it sounds just like FreeCommander to me. Only difference is apparently there's an un...

aiyyy I love FC too much to quit using it. But the more I mess around with cool looking themes the narrower my choices becuase the FC toolbar gets totally hosed unless all the dimensions of theme components are the same as the XP defaults. This one particular theme is a few old called Shine_vs. I do...
