Hmm, I don't understand.
When I look at the linked page then there is no solution for opening a new FreeCommander instance window.
It only describes how to open something in the "other" panel = In the same window.
This is not what I want.
So the question is still unanswered

Bug: FC scan on first folder content after start lasts ~20-30 seconds
Assume I start FC by double click on the FreeCommander.exe in WIndows Explorer (on 64bit Win7). The FreeCommander windows itself launches very fast with the previously selected directory in treeview on the left and on the right side with an EMPTY DetailsView. I have to wait 20 to 30 seconds until th...

Missing context menus: "Open in new tab" and "Open in new window"?
When I right click on a folder in left TreeView or right DetailsView I find no context menus
and
....which let me obviously open the selected folder in a new tab resp. a new FreeCommander window
How can I enable them?

How to switchfrom 3 to 2 pane layout? "Open in new window" context menu?
I prefer to have a 2-pane layout instead of the default 3-panes. How can I switch to only 2 panes mode with treeview on the left and directory on the right? In case (~2%) that I need in parallel another directory view I need a folder context menu "Open in new window" which opens a new Free...

Issue: FC freezes (=is busy) for ~15 seconds at startup
When I double click on XE 2019 b790a 32bit portable in 64bit Win7 then it takes at first approx 15 seconds until I can use Freecommander. A rotating circle as mouse pointer indicates that FC is busy with something. Other programs can be used normally. Whats wrong? Yes, I disabled FC auto-check for u...

Re: How to touch (copy only timestamps) of files to the other side?
Thank you. I found your suggestion. A minor misleading issue would be the naming "...as in target folder". From my point of view "target" is the directory of the files which should be copied/changed. But I want to copy the timestamps from it. So the term "as in source folder...

How to touch (copy only timestamps) of files to the other side?
Assume I have two folders trees. The first on the left pane and the second on the right pane. The content of all the files is the same but some of the files differ in their timestamp. How can I mark e.g. 27 out of 231 files on the left pane and tell MC to copy (only) the timestamp of the correspondi...

Show folder diff + copy marked?
Assume I want to compare two directory trees. I select the first folder in the left pane and the second in the right pane. How can I tell MC to (auto-expand) the full dirtree and (only) show the different files? How can I define "difference"? Files with timestamp differences (only) should ...

How to speedup start of FC? Needs 22 seconds (!) here
Much to my surprise FC needs very, very, very long to start. On my 3 years old quite good computer with core i5, 8 GB RAM and Windows 7 64bit it needs 22 (!) seconds to start. This is very strange. All other programs start within a couple of seconds or even faster. Whats wrong? How can I speedup FC?...

How to disable the vertical middle icon bar between panes?
I prefer urgently to hide the vertical icon bar in the middle between the two panes.
How can I achieve this?
Can I put the icons (in smallery versions) into a "normal" horizontal toolbar at the top?

Comparing whole directory possible? Result only diffs?
I want to compare not just two flat folders but two directory trees.
As the result only those files and folders should appear which differ
(new in green, changed in blue, deleted in red).
All equal files and folders should be omitted.
Is this possible?
I found no way for this

Jumping to new directory by dragging a folder not possible?
Assume I am currently in the left pane in directory D:\aaa\bbb\ Now I want to drag the folder D:\ccc\ from the right pane resp. from WinExplorer into the address bar on the left pane of Total Commander. This seems to be not possible because the address bar does not allow drag&drop. I can only na...

How to binary compare files/folders?
As far as I can see only the file size and the date of each file is compared when I do a folder compare. Is there really no way of doing a binary comapre e.g. by comparing a CRC32 check?
