I can confirm that in release 657, the main window title is blank for both panels. I tried [folder], [drive] [folder] and [path]. All are blank. Windows XP, Classic theme.
Thank you.

Re: Favourites Panel Functionality
My preference would be the opposite: by default open in the current tab or, for those of us who don't use tabs at all, replace the current folder as it used to be. If "shift" is held down, open a (new) tab.

Auto refresh toggle
At times it would be handy to be able to temporarily turn off auto refresh when manually renaming files. I tried Tools, Settings, File/folder list, Refresh, Auto Refresh for general changes, but this doesn't work. In all events, it's too many levels deep. Would it be possible to have a menu option t...

Re: Favourites Panel Functionality
Selecting a favorite now automatically opens a tab, in each panel. For those of us who don't use tabs, can this be made optional?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: Favourite folders not being saved
I believe I have found the answer. The first folder in my favourites list is c:\users\Bill\[Music] - (with the square brackets - I like this folder to sort at the top in Explorer.) The bracketed folder name seemed to confuse freeCommander's ini file. I changed it to simply Music and all's well. Than...

Re: Favourite folders not being saved
The Info window shows me C:\Users\Bill\AppData\Local\freeCommanderXE\Settings\FreeCommander.ini. I can see the list of favourite folders in this file under [FcFavoriteFolders_Active]. When I add a new folder I see it's appended to the list but after I close and reopen the program the list is empty i...

Favourite folders not being saved
Windows 7, 64 bit, freeCommanderXE 551
I can see they are being saved to the ini file but after restarting freeCommander the list is empty.
Thanks.

The one major feature I miss most from another file manager program is a permanent, on screen pane to view certain file types, especially images. Thumbnails work well as does the current quickview method but they both mean opening and closing a second view. Certain operations, such as deleting a pdf...

Hi Marek, I was part of the grid line display problem discussion and delighted when turning off the scroll effect solved it. This is something unrelated. I have tried scrolling a long list of files, by clicking below the scrollbar, with effect on and off, and with grid lines on and off, with the sam...

Scrollbar advancing more than a screenful
I'm noticing that when I click in the area below the vertical scrollbar, the list of files is advancing more than a screenful. I don't know when this peculiarity started but certainly before the latest beta. Windows XP SP2.

Excellent, Marek. I was just about to report that, although renaming the manifest file eliminated the grid lines display problem, I was unable to open freeCommander full screen, a worse drawback. I never liked the way freeCommander, and other programs, scrolled file lists but didn't know it was a &q...

Dreamer - thank you for the suggestion, but I don't understand. Stripes is completely different from grid lines. Stripes gives me alternating row colours in detail view. This is very interesting and I may use it but it's not the same as grey lines separating file names. Marek - I renamed freecommand...

I wasn't aware of the stripes feature, but it's very nice. However, the problem is with the display of the grid lines, and the problem persists even with alternating background colours (stripes) on. For me the grid line display screws up when I click beneath or above the vertical scroll bar to view ...

Another dual-pane file manager, freeCommander's main competitor, has the same problem when scrolling through a directory with grid lines on. When questioned many months ago the author's response was that it is a bug in Windows and the display issue has never been resolved. I have the same problem wi...
