Upgraded to 558 and tree font settings are still not persistent. They are "remembered" in the settings, but you have to go in and click Apply each time you restart.
EDIT: Never mind. After a few closes and restarts, the setting seems to have stuck.

Re: 550 - Setting works initially but not after restart
Extras -> Settings -> Drives -> Show drives as popup button Works correctly when you first set it, but if you close FCXE and then restart you get the Button Bar again even though Show drives as popup button is still set! WinXP FCXE 0.0.0.550 public preview Same with the font settings for the tree a...

Re: Multi Rename
For complex music renaming, including being able to rename based on disc number tags, try foobar2000. For complex renaming, including where you reset the counter for each folder, try Bulk Rename Utility. FreeCommander is a big step up from Windows rename, but it can't do what either of you want. foo...

Re: Up one folder instead of opening files
I don't know if it's a bug or a deliberate design issue. I've been using a workaround for so long, I forgot about the odd behavior.
I highlight the top file in the list then press SHIFT+END. That gives the behavior one would expect from CTRL+A (selecting all files and NOT selecting "..").

you can go up to the parent folder by double-clicking on empty space in the panel/tab This is a feature that, by now, seems so natural! I'm sure I'm not the only FC user that has been stuck using a PC without it and double-clicked an empty space in Explorer only to have the computer mock me with it...

I have three monitors. There's no need to clutter one FC window with dual panes. Sure, you can use CTRL+SHIFT+F3 (and I do, dozens of times a day!) but it's a very inelegant solution. Saying go back to Explorer implies that the only usefulness of FC is the dual panes, which is rubbish. There are doz...

I have found that if you activate hot track (Settings->Select Items) then F2 must be used to start a rename process. Perhaps this might help. I haven't had any problems with accidentally activating rename mode, but that hot tracking is a wonderful feature that I never knew about. Vista Aero's pale ...

I found out about while Googling something about xplorer2. I don't remember exactly if it was a post on the forum or what, but I much prefer FreeCommander. I tried Directory Opus and love it, but the price is obscene. All I want is a replacement for the awful version of Explorer that ships with Vist...

I would like to see auto column resize as well. Also, pressing CTRL+ALT++ now always leaves the longest filename cut off when manually autoresizing. Double-clicking the space between the columns does not do this. It seems to not matter what font I use...it just wants to cut an extra pixel or two off...
