Re: Using Quickview for .flv files

Just select your .flv file in FC, press F3 to open the viewer and then F9 for the options dialog.

As FC uses windows media player for multimedia playback, first you should install WMP-compatible DirectShow codec, like ffdshow. If the video plays in WMP but not in FC, it means that the file type is not associated with multimedia, so press F9 and add .flv extension in the box labeled "As medi...

This bug is described as fixed in v2009.02a, however it is an incomplete fix. Now the viewer no longer blocks volume control, but other multimedia keys - play/pause, stop, previous/next track - are still blocked when the viewer window has focus. Also, my keyboard has two other "special" ke...

I can reproduce the bug consistently in v2008.06c and beta 387.

Edit:
This bug occurs only if the setting "Use dialog window for rename" is turned OFF.

Maybe it would be more user friendly to rename the option to "Sticky selection mode (like Norton Commander)" instead of "NC-mode"?

Renaming after click when the listview isn't focused

Clicking selected file when the listview isn't focused initiates renaming instead of simply focusing the listview. This is very annoying when you just want to switch back to the panel without changing selection. Steps to reproduce: Select a single file in a panel. Switch the focus away from the list...

Multimedia keys don't work while FC window is in foreground

Many modern keyboards include additional multimedia and internet keys (volume up/down, mute, play/pause, back/forward etc.) These keys are usually handled by media players, even when they are running in the background, while volume control is handled by Windows. However, when FC is in foreground, th...

Moving cursor over filelist causes flickering

Using FreeCommander 2008.06c on Vista SP1 with Aero on, when I move mouse cursor over the file list, it causes the items to flicker. The issue is more pronounced in the details view, but still visible in the list view too. Also reproducible in beta R387. By comparison, there's absolutely no flicker ...

Support side mouse buttons for back and forward navigation

Many mice now feature two additional buttons (X buttons), usually on the left side, that perform back/forward commands. While mainly labeled by manufacturers as "internet" buttons, they are widely supported in many other applications besides web browsers, e.g.: Windows Explorer, Media Play...

Re: 2008-6c - INI location bug in Vista

BTW, maybe defaulting to the INSTALL FOLDER might be the best thing to do anyway, since individual people can create their own layouts if they wish. I think this is terrible idea. Applications shouldn't write anything into their program folder during normal use, that's exactly what AppData folder i...
