Re: how to swap words in multi-rename

That's it !
FC XE uses Perl-style capturing groups back referencing (e.g. : $1) vs. Java-style (e.g. : \1)
Can't seem to find it in the fine manual though.
Anyway, THANK YOU !

Back-ref capturing groups in multirename regex replacement

As is (build 690), in multi rename functionality, the "Replace with" field doesn't seem to accept back-references to regex capturing groups defined in "Search for" field, as discussed in : http://forum.freecommander.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=2189 This capability would make multi rename extremely (more...

Re: how to swap words in multi-rename

Hello, I actually noticed but I was willing to bump on an elaborated example rather than to start a brand new thread. Even if ZX is now an ol' granpa' (like the rest of us by now), I wish he/she still has most of his mind and switched to FC XE (b689 hopefully) ...but everyone is welcome to reply ! s...

Re: how to swap words in multi-rename

Hello ZX, I like your example so I tried it as is (slight change on extension from "foo" to "pdf") It just doesn't work in multirename search and replace regex boxes (as of b689) Does FC actually offer regex catpuring groups and back references ? (with \1...\n or whatsoever) Can you provide an actua...

Re: Slow copy/paste on Win7 (FC hooking to something)

My problem seems to have little to do with FC although it doesn't happen with the common Windows file explorer. Sysinternals Procmon revealed massive access to Recycle Bin whatever I was doing (copying, moving and of course deleting) ; weird ; Win wizs would probably understand why. Emptying trash c...

F2 shortcut to edit current Favorite item label

F2 shortcut to edit current Favorite item label would come handy when massively editing Favorites
(as is, I only seem to be able to edit by doubl-clicking)
Thx

Favorites : additionnal visual codes (colors, lines)

Hi, I'm using quite intensively Favorites hierarchy to organize access to a pretty large amount of paths in a multi-env. IS. Offering additionnal visual codes - background & font colors as well as horizontal line-separators - would bring great value to the existing ordering/foldering capabilities. T...

Slow copy/paste on Win7 (FC hooking to something)

Hi, I'm having a "slow" issue on copying/moving on Windows 7 32b Ultimate (not on 64b at work) with FC tested up to beta 682. Something in FC looks like hooking to some event of some sort because it hangs for a while (sometime as long as 30s) before giving back control. The action, though, is effect...

Re: Use for full subfolder path : won't actually match full

Works for me in build 674...
...including with full path regex as can be \\APP\\\d{8} to match only date-formatted dir names below an "APP" dir.
THANK-YOU !

Re: File > Search > Subfolder filter : regex on full path

It looks like I only had to wait until build 673 (thanks !) However, It might be a little buggy because with my very same use case, only myfile.txt comes out of the search whereas myfile.csv should also be a candidate. Even only with date filter \d{8} won't it work (both 32/64 ; I also tried .*?\d{8...

Use for full subfolder path : won't actually match full path

So it's there in build 673 ! (FreeCommander XE 2014 Build 673 donor, Windows 7 32 and 64-bit) : - Implemented: New search option "Use for full subfolder path (otherwise only for subfolder name)" (Thanks !) Though, when I test it against the following use case (pattern \d{8} ) : .\20140930 .\20140930...

File > Search > Subfolder filter : regex on full path

Hello, It would be nice to provide a search upon the (optionnally) whole path string, including backslashes separators (escaped \\) e.g. ~/ \d{8}\\APP\d / matching the following directories : .\20140331\APP1\myfile.txt .\whatever\20140430\APP2\whatever\myfile.csv etc. Thanks. (FC is already cool wit...

Re: "Subfolder filter" regex capabilities in File>Search fea

Hi Karol, Thanks for your prompt answer. I think the subfolder filter can be used only for subfolder name and not for the subfolder path. It seems, unfortunately (if I may say because I hadn't seen any unfortunate thing yet within FC) So I'll probably drop some feature suggestion in the appropriate ...
