Automatic replacement of part of a path for (re)moved folders

Recently I proposed this new option: https://freecommander.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=9673 And concerning that issue to some extent is also this: If the user has a lot of pinned Tabs and changes the letter of the drive- then that user has a lot of tedious and unproductive work to do. Because the...

Re: Stop tabs from inheriting proprieties

And that annoying behavior is not even consistent, as apparently I have found a bug concerning it:

Tabs not inheriting proprieties bug

Long story short: after all these months I still find the inheriting properties by tabs very annoying and counterproductive [https://freecommander.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=8176]. But recently it became even more annoying, because it is not even coherent- as apparently there is a bug concerning...

Re: Slow opening from Favorite Toolbar on Windows 10

I think that my problem [which was absent on Windows 7] is solely on account of Windows 10 [which is a clean install]. Because also other "little" things are now plain slow For example I have a BAT that deletes all *.SFK files on all of the drives. Those are small files [typically around 150 kB] and...

Re: Slow opening from Favorite Toolbar on Windows 10

I have around 50 icons on 4 toolbars. 15 are the exact repetition [i.e. 30, half for left and the other half for right Panel]. Around 10 more are hidden in as sub-menus So I removed left all but 10 basic ones for software [and also removed excess of opened Tabs] and added just one new for a folder- ...

Slow opening from Favorite Toolbar on Windows 10

Since I moved to from Windows 7 x64 to 10 x64, my FC has a problem with shortcuts on Favorite Toolbars. Every folder that I open through an icon placed there takes up to a second to show up. And the very same folder chosen in form of an already existing Tab shows up immediately. This is plain ridicu...

Re: FC looses half of focus because of its pop up window - and the user might forget about it

@ Forez - your suggestion "B] appear also as an icon on a taskbar, so that the user will know that something is affecting FC" This is already imlpemented. The FC icon changes as soon as more than one FC window is open. [...] Yes I noticed that in Windows 10 at a last moment and adjusted the end of ...

Open dead shortcut as ghost folders along with some color indication

Every now and then I encounter a dead LNK file on my drives. But almost always I need to actually recreate that folder or just retrieve the path to a deleted / moved / lost folder. So I propose this for FreecCommander to do in such situation: A] Open such non-existing folder B] Show the full path to...

FC looses half of focus because of its pop up window - and the user might forget about it

How to reproduce this: 1] Select a file in a panel 2] Drag it when still holding your LMB 3] Drop it in the same folder What happens? You get op up window saying "The source and destination file names are the same.". So what is the problem? Apparently nothing wrong if I click OK of the X icon of the...

Chosen custom profile A changes to custom profile B when a file is moved

Here is what happens. I often choose at the same time: - Plain View mode [version CTRL + B] - detailed view - my own custom profile of Columns And in this combo of views I see that in a Folder I have a File. But that File is in reality in not in Folder but a Sub-Folder of that Folder, which I know b...

Settings folder is not remembered on Windows 10

I just moved from Windows 7 to Windows 10. And the bug is: every time I "Backup your settings..." from the menu or use the "show dialog for selecting of the backup folder" icon on the Splitter, I have to navigate to the desired location. The same goes for restoring of my settings This was not happen...

ColorSchemas are not removed after restoration of settings

If you ma make a backup of your settings, then those files will include Color Schemas files If later on you will restore them- .COLOR file will be merely added to the existing ones in the C:\Users\USER-NAME\AppData\Local\FreeCommanderXE\Settings\ColorSchemas folder And that is plain wrong. If we res...

I get such errors every few days

I just ignore them, as I do not want to spend my life investigating every bug in every piece of software that I happen to use

Re: Opening multiple music files of different filetypes only opens one type

I meant that set of file = group = one and the same same file format

And this is not some 15 files limit / bug of operating system. This happens with as little as 2 files [= 2 file formats]
