w8-32 bit 1. when we use F7 to create new folder, we press f7, folder naming window opens, we type the name, press enter, window closes but then the cursor focus switches to right side folder tree pane at the immediate top level folder above where new folder was created. we have to unnecessary move ...

Re: renaming to a name already existing name throws error
I don't think.
Previously I had teracopy, but that is not there any more. I think I am using only windows explorer with its defaults.
could you please mention suggest some names of such software so that I could find whether I have any of them on my box.
Thanks.

Re: renaming to a name already existing name throws error
yes, it surely looks like an o.s. kind of message. I am on w8.
when I do the same in windows explorer window, that gives a clear message like this:
Thanks.

renaming to a name already existing name throws error
If we rename a file/ folder, and give a name which is already existing in that same folder, it is throwing error. 1 Interrupted Action Error 0x80070057: The parameter is incorrect. That is cryptic. Of course it can't rename to that, but it should tell in simpler words that "a file/ folder with ...

What are temp folders and why are they not removed?
Seeing this folder entry in ABOUT, I find dozens of folders named like FreeCommander2108 in my w7 folder C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Temp They are blank (have nothing in them) as many as I could see. What are they used for? And if their use is over after some particular run or task, why are th...

Re: long time, no new public release
latest was release 698 for donors. I have a hunch that Marek might make the "century" release 700 for public, in order to celebrate the achievement. I would myself not be downloading and installing so many donors release, even if they had been made available to public. Even firefox, from 3...

Re: long time, no new public release
I have been using this since w7 days when ms had the stupidity to spoil its windows explorer by adding all those libraries and stopped allowing me to access my folders the way I was used to in earlier versions. And once I stumbled upon fc, I got overwhelmed by its feature that are mountain high in c...

Re: long time, no new public release
Developers are not asking and prompting for donation, it seems some donors are highlighting themselves as donors, and then other donors join the chorus. I have seen some other software also having same functioning style in fora, donors thinking they are more privileged than free users. Then, the act...

Re: file pane background becomes green
yes, got it. had never understood the meaning of these 3 plain views, now I could understand by experimenting on them. Found that this green color is not working across all files, folders, panes. it just works in the current pane, current folder. Actually, it looked so nice that I wish if I could re...

file pane background becomes green
I pressed some key(s) and the background of file pane becomes green (pic attached). http://s6.postimg.org/i9zy7gi35/green.jpg I couldn't find in the menu or settings how to make it or change it. First I wanted to remove it, but now I think it looks nice, which area in menu or settings to look into t...

Bkp_Settings_2015-01-26 11-56-54, is not clear
You are giving the name of the backup folder as Bkp_Settings_2015-01-26 11-56-54 Frankly, when we save it somewhere in our harddisk, or load at it googledrive or somewhere on net, later on we are not able to understand what this file/ folder was. How do we know among our several files backed up, tha...

Re: Give option to hide ".zip" files from left pane folder t
Have you checked the existend options first? Settings - Tree - Management: Show Windows archive files Oh, it is already there. I was hoping so. I had even checked several options. but couldn't locate it. Seems there had been so many options, and then panes in option that it has become quite difficu...
