I was not curious about the version, but for a "normal" user this message might be a little confusing
I will backup the dll and look for the version.

Installer complaining FCIcons64.dll is newer
Hi, Since some releases (I think the last 2-3 releases) I get a question during installation, that the FCIcons64.dll which is on my system is newer than the one that is supposed to be installed? Is this only my system? Freecommander X64 Install The Local file has the Date 07.08.2015 09:24:54 I alway...

Re: FTP - Will it come back?
I would like to know, if "next year", which is basically "this year" is still current?
I REALLY miss the fast option to do a ftp connect.
But if you do, please include all the secure variants, because they become more and more important.

692 - Pressing F6 with archive on the destination
I think with pressing F6 with an archive on the destination side, the option "Move to archive" should be selected, as this is the most natural way of using F6?

Re: 682: Context New Menu will handle new Documents differen
It seems to be the default install on my company client.
It is not a big deal, as I can remove the read only flag right after adding the new file.
But I thought it might be good to notify here, that explorer handles this scenario different the FC does (in meaning of removing the read only).

682: Context New Menu will handle new Documents different
Hi. If you use right click and "New", the menu might show Files, that have Templates somewhere. In my case it was: C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Templates\MM14 New Map.mmap This file was Write protected. If I use explorer New-Menu, the file will be copied and the Read Only Flag will be ...

Re: 673 - Extensions missing on Desktop
This is Not true.
FC overrides the system settings and does it in all other folders except Desktop.

673 - Extensions missing on Desktop
When i am viewing the desktop through FC and have "show extensions" in Windows disabled, FC will also NO show extensions (even when set in FC to show extensions) for the desktop. But whats even more heavy is, that when I then try to rename eg. a test.txt to test2.txt I cannot rename, as it...

Re: UAC compliance
If I remember correctly, it asked me all the times under Windows 8.
Although overwriting a file in c:\program files does not ask for UAC Permissions, but just copying will ask for UAC.

Create SHA256 Checksum
As a lot of sites do change to SHA2/SHA256, it would be great, if the menu entry "Create MD5 checksum" could be renamed to
"Create checksum" and the menu behind that would have the possibility to choose the Checksum method.
Regards
Thorsten

FTP - Will it come back?
Hey, Is FTP anywhere in the near future? I really miss it, as it always was a great feature to quickly copy some files over firewalls. Using Webdav for example always results in the login window be openen in explorer, after i ave authenticated, i can then use it in freecommander. But often this can ...

Re: 667 - Copy from MTP (iPhone 5s) will remove File Extensi
Just tested it.
When I turn on file extensions on windows, it is working in FC.
But I would guess, that is is not an intended behavior?

Re: 667 - Copy from MTP (iPhone 5s) will remove File Extensi
Could be the reason. Usually, as I am primarily using FC, I usually never deal with the explorer settings for the extensions.
I will try later today.

Re: 667 - Copy from MTP (iPhone 5s) will remove File Extensi
In the source window there is the normal extension you would expect (.jpg).
I would have made the error report different if that would be the reason.
Everything looks nice until the copy.
Drag and drop also copies the extension, so if the source would not have it, why should drag and drop do it right?
