XE has great potential

Just wanted to pop in here and say: FreeCommander XE is a very promising beta release! Everyone who uses FreeCommander should appreciate the Herculean effort behind it... It's a funny thing about file managers. Some developers want their file managers to behave (and look) only as they themselves wou...

Re: Separate Folder Tree for each TAB

Perhaps I misunderstood the request, but FC already sets tree visibility by individual tab. That is, some of my FC folder tabs show a tree, and some don't, according to my liking. It is one the features all commanders should have (but many, including the market leader, don't), and I have made freque...

Re: Undo

When I look through the list of features, it sounds just like FreeCommander to me. Only difference is apparently there's an undo feature and a 64 bit version. Don't kid yourself. FreeCommander is a great tool (esp. since it is free) and I don't personally care for the way DO does things, but the tw...

Um, why would you assume that?

I totally don't "get" this request. The whole purpose of the commander-style interface (such as in FC, TC, SC, Dopus, Salamander, xplorer2, Magellan, Frigate, Accelman, EFCommander, etc. etc. etc.) is the dual-panel mode. It's what makes these tools so much more efficient UIs for file mana...

Only as an option, please! The way FC behaves now (panel tree visibility is parented by panel folder tab) is the best solution for me.

2009.02: Flatview does not display subfolder thumbs

I've tested this several times.
  • 1. Navigate to a folder that contains both image files and sub-folders that also contain image files.

    2. Select View-> Flat view - files

    3. Select View-> Thumbnails
Thumbs in sub-folders are not rendered.

I'm referring to the functionality described and illustrated here . It is the one thing in Vista Explorer that no other file manager does quite as effectively for us mouse-centrics. This functionality could be expanded even further via the similar tools embedded in the Microsoft Access table (and Ex...

It would be great if that middle-click behavior also worked on a folder in the folder tree.
