I did not saw and still do not see the supposed "Last used tab" option

No, it is backup only.

You can rebuild the drive bar with "Refresh all" Shift+Ctrl+R.

The Desktop icon for FC - always does have the "Run as administrator" option turned ON - in the Properties/Advanced panel.

Simply try to deactivate the option.
It is bad to run any program "as administrator".

for a file after my "ON DISK:" I see no data of any kind

It was already discussed: add SizeOnDsk Column or use AlwaysLoadFileAllocatedMemorySize=1

Activate Folder->Size of folders

Creating file with any extension: Shift+Ctrl+N

Check the Limitations.

Check your options you use in synchronize dialog.
Include:
- Subfolders
Compare by:
- Name, size
- Date
Show:

There are two refresh commands "Refresh (Ctrl+R)" and "Refresh all (Shift+Ctrl+R)".
From "Define keyboard shortcuts" dialog:
Refresh - Refreshes the content of the active panel
Refresh all - Refreshes the content of all windows

What about existing [fc_sizeOnDisk...]?

It seems that this is currently not working.
