Re: Settings "Search File/Folders"

As I understand your report, the converter does not become active until the Search dialog has been closed and reopened.

Are there any other Search settings which also don't work until Search is reopened, or is the problem specific to the converter? Thanks.

Re: folder sync win7 access denied

Thanks for the follow-up, micksepp. It would have been easier for you if FC had reported the reason for the failure. I don't use FC's sync feature (FreeFileSync meets my specific needs better) so I can't speak from experience here. But from a user-friendly standpoint, I think a sync operation should...

Thanks for that tip, alf5000!
Confirmed -- it solves this problem. Both menus are in the same Windows Explorer style.
Thanks, Marek!

Re: Changing the look and feel of the menu

What you have posted here is basically the same as your previous post http://www.forum.freecommander.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=4893 but you haven't added anything more to the discussion with this new post. Rather than reposting as if it were a new issue (when it actually isn't), it would be better...

Re: Multiselect via keyboard does not work in 613

When you select a file in windows explorer and you hold the CONTROL key, you can select further elements via space. => This does not work in FC. So I think your comment is not correct. Am I wrong or did I misunderstood you? Thanks for pointing this out; I didn't know about it before. I stand correc...

Re: two questions

The author of FC, Marek Jasinski, wrote "I cannot say when this new version will be finished. I also will not introduce a development plan – it is simply not possible with my schedule. Please don’t forget: FreeCommander is my spare time activity. I don’t know if I will be able to spend one, ten...

Re: Sort by size does not work on folders.

Does it work for you, BGM, if you enable File/Folder List > Sorting tab
[x] Folders Like Files ?

Note that folders and files sort together then.
(It works for me in FC-XE 613; Win7/64.)

Re: Multiselect via keyboard does not work in 613

Selection by spacebar is one of the defining features of Norton Commander, hence in NC-mode in FC. If you turn off NC-mode, spacebar does not select elements; instead, selection works as in Windows Explorer. That has been true at least back to FC2009.

Re: NC mode context menu

What version of FC are you using? In FC-XE, a normal right-click on a file opens the context menu. If you are expecting or experiencing something different, please explain. As for why NC mode is not the default, it's probably because most people use the Windows Explorer style and are not familiar wi...

Re: Multiselect via keyboard does not work in 613

As far as I know, the only way to select items "via keyboard" is if NC-mode is enabled (Settings > Select Items). Then the Spacebar can be used to select items. This works fine for me in 613, Win7/64.

Could you describe what you are doing when you try to select items? Thanks.

Marek wrote:The 0 value (autosize) may work not properly in 613. Set bigger positivve value for autosize, e.g. 100.
Confirmed -- 0 value resulted in widely-spaced columns in list view. Positive 100 worked fine for auto-size; Positive 10 was too narrow, similar to the screenshot in the OP. (FC-XE 613; Win7/64)

Re: Reverting from beta to 2009.02b; want to save settings

I'd like to save all my settings/toolbar icons etc. Is there a way to do this? Or do I have to start from scratch? Probably you don't need to do anything because (as far as I know) FC-XE keeps its settings separately from FC2009. In other words, you can have both versions installed at the same time...

Re: How to Synchronize a write-protected drive?

It seems to me that a write-protected drive should allow a read (copy). Perhaps the corruption has done more than simply "write protect" it, e.g. is preventing synch programs from interacting with it. Can you manually copy a file from it? I wonder if FreeFileSync would work. http://freefil...
