Re: Favorites text too large - wont stay smaller.
Hello Underdog. I think you have helped to identify the exact problem. Thanks for your observant number crunching. Your analysis of the font size differences does, in fact, reveal a pattern of sorts. It seems to be related to Windows' percentage scaling of text for display, as per your preferences i...

Re: Current Version of CHM Help File
Thanks a lot. I must have been completely blind to miss that content in the Download section of the website. Appreciate you steering me straight.

Current Version of CHM Help File
Running with donor version 692 on x64. Am using the 16Jan2015 version of the CHM help file as a "general" reference to the features of FCXE. Acknowledge it's neither a comprehensive nor up-to-date help for the donor version builds. Is there a slightly more current version of this help file...

Re: Favorites text too large - wont stay smaller.
I have encountered this problem too. It seems to get triggered when you make any revisions to the settings--excluding the ones mentioned by alf500--and re-save them. The font size settings for the Favorites tree gets all mangled whenever other settings are changed and then re-saved. Therefore, it's ...

Keep Monitor Desktop Location Separate From Layout Saves
Hello. Running with v691 on Win7 x64. I use two monitors constantly in my work environment. Depending on what's on my plate I may have FCXE open either in monitor 1 or 2, primarily to allow another app to also be open in the alternate monitor. When I save/re-save a custom layout the saved configurat...

Re: How To Toggle "Show Only Files" With Icon Or Shortcut
joby_toss: Okay, I created that toolbar shortcut. Not the one-button or one keyboard shortcut route I had originally envisioned, but definitely it's 99% of the solution. Thanks a lot for your advice. dsperber: I thought about using Plain View but that feature would show _all_ the files from _all_ su...

Re: How To Toggle "Show Only Files" With Icon Or Shortcut
I took your idea one step further. See the attachment. Basically, a filter can be defined to exclude all folders. However, I don't know the way yet to assign an icon or shortcut to these non-quick-filters. So I can't "toggle" this custom NoFolders filter easily. Well at least we're half-wa...

How To Toggle "Show Only Files" With Icon Or Shortcut
Hello. Running v691 x64 under Win7 Pro. Tools | Settings | View | File/Folder List | General |Show Only Files: < enable / disable > The above menu selection sequence is the only way I know in which to toggle between showing the folders too (or not) in a FCXE panel. Is there a quicker method (outside...

Loss Of Context Menu For Bottom Panel Folder Tabs
Hello. Running with version 691, but same problem with version 690 as well. In short, it's an intermittent problem which arises only in specific--but reproducible--circumstances. Here is the scenario: 1. Create (at least) two custom layouts, Custom1 and Custom2, as follows: 2. For Custom1, use only ...

Re: Some Problems With v690 And Win7_x64
Re item 1: Yeah, I guess it's more under the category of "feature that doesn't make sense in the context of what you expect to use it for in the Help menu". :-) When I click the "shortcuts list" button to generate an external copy of the shortcuts data, it only allows saving it t...

Re: Icon Shortcuts To Custom Layouts In FCXE64
Thanks for the insights. Workaround for 1: Yes, I did try that exact route too. As you probably know though, the "layout restore" icon is not active in the toolbar until you manually select another custom layout from the main menu itself. So basically, to use this workaround one must first...

Icon Shortcuts To Custom Layouts In FCXE64
Hello. Spoiler alert: I come from an old PowerDesk v6 environment under XP. Wish 1: Create icons in a custom toolbar which point to selected custom layouts created by the user. At the moment you must select the layout via the main menu, or via an icon on a toolbar which point to the same menu option...

Some Problems With v690 And Win7_x64
Hello. All of the following bugs generated under an alternate INI environment: 1. Help | Shortcuts: The generated HTML file (fc_Shortcuts_en.htm) only shows the original keyboard shortcuts list, and not the one customized by the user. 2. View | Layouts | Auto Save Current Layout: Created a new 'Test...

Re: Desktop Folder Automatically Appears In Multiple INI Set
Hello. An update. Can confirm same behaviour with FCXE x64 in Windows 7 64-bit environment. In short, the Desktop folder always shows up automatically in a tab when FCXE opens under a custom INI environment. If a tab is locked, the Desktop folder overwrites the locked folder. Is this a bug? Or a con...
