Does it matter that much? It does its job no matter where it pops up.
The question confused me at first. I wasn't sure what you meant.

Re: FTP - problems ending session
After some experimentation and observation, I have found that this behavior only occurs in a non-admin Windows profile. That's probably why no one else has complained about it. I very seldom run as admin for security reasons; I'm pretty strict about that. All of my web work is done in my user accoun...

Re: Cannot access F:\ in Free commander 2009.02
Is it a separate drive or a partitiion?
What is stored on that drive?
What file system, FAT or NTFS?
Can you right-click on the drive button and view Properties?

Re: Can this program remap a batch of files & folders?
Wouldn't it be simpler to just copy the files to your hard drive?

Re: Restore tabs on startup
It might be an INI mixup. Take a look in Extras menu, Settings , Start program , and if you are running Vista or Win7, check "Specific for user - "Application Data" folder". Otherwise, go into Settings , View - Folder tabs, and see if "Close all not locked tabs when the prog...

Re: FreeCommander 2010 pre-alfa: drives bar
I think that's more of a new feature than a bug. I was always annoyed when I right-clicked on a drive button (for "Properties", usually to see if I could stuff more files into it) and lost my place.

UAC -- User Access Control
There are two copies of the INI. You must tell Free Commander to use the one in your User directory. Run the program as an administrator to do so.
This thread is about the same problem.
I hope you read English well, because I will not attempt to write in French

Re: Show extension in separate column (not like file_name.ext)
I've never understood why anyone would want it like that. It's hard enough for me to see what I need without putting another column in the way. (I need a large font)

Re: Really useful
I'll second all that. FC is the first thing I install in a new computer or after a Windows re-install. It's the first thing I want when I'm working on someone else's computer. I carry it on more than one USB stick and my "toolkit" CD. Of all the file managers I've tried, it's the one I've ...

Re: Problem copying files
Oh boy, foot in mouth. I was mixed up and talking through my hat, ignore what I said. I wish I could say something sensible. I don't know what could be causing the problem, unless it has something to do with your mouse. Sometimes they produce odd effects. I did try some different settings for Free C...

Can you paste with Ctrl+V?
I have never had any trouble with it, but I don't enable full row select because it does make pasting and dropping awkward.
