Re: Custom Themes
+1 This would definitely be a great option. Tweaking the theme can take a lot of time otherwise.

Theme for FreeCommander XE
Hi, I have tweaked the look and feel of Freecommander on Windows 7 a lot. I like dark themes. Suppose I wanted to copy the theme to another computer, or share it with other users, what is the best way to go about that? It seems to me like this type of information is all in the "FreeCommander.in...

Re: Hotkeys stopped working in Build 728
Hi,
thanks for replying. I keep a lot of backups, too, of my Freecommander settings (including on a network drive). I did activate the settings from a week back, unfortunately it did not fix the hotkeys issue.

Hotkeys stopped working in Build 728
Hi, I downloaded Build 728 (portable version, 64-bit) and installed that. I install new versions this way: * I back up all settings in Freecommander. * I shut down Freecommander. * I open the Zip archive (e.g. "FreeCommanderXE-64-donor_portable728.zip") in Windows Explorer. * I extract the...

Incorrect file name suggested in Pack files dialog
This is related to Freecommander 719 x64 version: In the left panel I have a zip archive open. In the right (active) panel I have selected a *.txt file in a normal directory. I press CTRL + F5 to compress the TXT file. In the 'Pack files' dialog, the 'Target' field suggests using the name of the Zip...

Re: Rename target file in Pack files dialog impossible (695
I was stumped by this problem for a while. I decided to roll back to an earlier version, 685 (donor, x64), but had the same issue there. Then I went for the 680 public beta, but still had the same problem occur. Every time I would restore my settings from a backup, so I suspected there was something...

Rename target file in Pack files dialog impossible (695 x64)
Hi, I am using Build 695 64-bit donor and think I have come across a bug. I back up files daily to a network drive like this: * Open the source and target folders in dual pane mode. * Select the file to be backed up in the source folder. * Press ALT + F5 to launch 'Pack files' dialog. * In the targe...

Customize the fine details / appearance
I have a dark theme for Freecommander XE, that I have created myself. In the tree view, I cannot figure out whether it is possible to adjust the color of the triangular icon that points downwards or right depending on whether the subfolders are expanded or collapsed respectively. See the screenshot....

Re: Finally figured a use for File Container!
Hi, Yeah, file containers are really cool for many operations. I really like the fact that you can do a search and then with the click of a button export the matches to a file container - this is extremely handy when you need to pinpoint files based on a number of parameters, for example for creatin...

Pack files
I like to work with dual panes, vertically split. I think I discovered a bug (or at least usability issue). In the upper pane I a Zip archive: C:\Temp1\freecommander\MyArchive\MyArchive.zip (i.e. I have opened the archive in Freecommander). In the lower pane I have a file in another directory: C:\Te...

SharePoint Drafts folder not visible in Freecommander XE
I noticed an odd thing in Freecommander XE. As a user of SharePoint there is a folder called SharePoint Drafts under My Documents. The folder is automatically created when checking out a document from SharePoint for editing. The thing is, while I can see it in Windows Explorer, it is not visible in ...

Keyboard shortcut to copy MD5 sum to clipboard
I am a longtime user of FreeCommander. Currently I am using FreeCommander 2014 Build 650. I am an avid user of keyboard shortcuts. I like how easy it is to calculate MD5 checksums in FreeCommander - just press CTRL + K and then hit Return in the 'Compute MD5 Checksums' dialog as the 'Run' button is ...
