Re: Network share timeouts?
Good question. Isn't that the ini option for "Load network in background process when FreeCommander starts"? (might be slightly different wording, as I use my custom UI file) Mine was set to 1 (checked) . I just tried changing it to 0 (unchecked). I'm pretty sure I used to have that optio...

Re: Why is "split flie" option disabled?
Until it is implemented, you can keep both FreeCommander and FreeCommanderXE installed on the same system. When you need to split a file, you'll have to load the old version, but for almost everything else you can use XE. I think quite a few people do this because XE doesn't have FTP yet. Another ch...

Re: Slow access to network locations when tree view is on
I have been trying to figure out exactly when the FreeCommanderXE stalls with networks. I've done a bunch of testing, and have yet to figure out exactly what conditions cause the problem.

I have noticed this as well. I don't know of a solution, but perhaps others do.

Re: Does not free the selection
What's happening here is interesting from a UI point of view. By left-clicking on the empty space, the selection is cleared, but the focus is still active on the last selected item. This is standard Windows UI behavior. In FreeCommander, however, the status bar reflects the info regarding the focuse...

Additional link to this forum from FreeCommander main page
May I recommend an additional link to this forum on the new (and very nice) FreeCommander main page. I recommend something in the main bar at the top, perhaps between Details and Downloads. There are multiple other links, but I think one in the main bar will help this forum grow. Personally, I autom...

Re: Slow Networking Issue
Unfortunately, I have to concur. There is some sort of issue with FC and network folders. Here's what I've tried: Adding a PathEditAutoCompleteSource=x entry to FreeCommander.ini, and trying values 0, 1, and 2 Switching to List view Using default columns Turning the tree off Making sure there is no ...

Re: opening multiple folders
Are you trying to view the contents of multiple folders in one list?
If so, plain/flat view is your friend.
If not, please clarify.

Re: Translation string missing?
Right. The example for 57015 seems to be missing. There is nothing more to translate in all that items except the word "Example". Right. But generally string resource files contain all the strings for easier and more efficient maintenance. Plus, consistency helps avoid errors (the other s...

In public beta build 680 (32-bit FCXE) on Win 7 SP1 (64-bit), I have the same issue as you do on your Build 681 x64 on Win7.

Re: Give option to hide ".zip" files from left pane folder t
Some thought might be given to reorganize these options. Thanks for pointing me to the the right place. Thanks. -- Rawat I'm currently working on an overhaul of the English language user interface (UI) strings. It won't change the organization at all, but I'm hoping it will help make the options mo...

680 - Filter off changes focused panel
XE public beta build 680. Win 7 SP1.
Using the 'Filter off' command changes the focused panel. Does not turn the filter off for the currently focused panel.

Re: Translation string missing?
What about the rest of the string, like in numbers 50010, 54013, and 62106? Do you see, that examples in that strings are different? Right. The example for 57015 seems to be missing. Also, where is the string for status bar text 'Object(s)'? 34827=%s Object(s) That item is applied only once, after ...

Terminating periods in file extension specifiers
In the Configure Viewer dialog box, in the General tab, there are several text fields in which the user can specify file extensions. Each default includes a terminating period. Any idea why? Most of the default file extension values in FreeCommander XE include terminating periods, although a couple ...
