starting trouble - can't start due to api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll
I am on w8.1-64-bit fc790 32 bit public when I installed w8.1 afresh on a new hdd, and then installed fc, it installed, but on double clicking the icon to run, it gives the following message: https://i.imgur.com/1qshTGG.jpg The program can't start because api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll is missing...

on running it, task bar icon is not made bigger
I have pinned fc icon on task bar, but When I run, the task bar icon is not made bigger, and another longer fc tab appears on task bar. That makes it two indications for fc in taskbar. Now the originally pinned fc icon is no use and we can click on longer fc tab indicator on task bar to bring the fc...

Re: fc didn't carry settings on update
I am public version user and I have installers of 716, 730, 740, 760, 770 and 786. one of these has changed the folder name. I have been using fc for years, and all my settings and backups are according to default folder names put by installer, so it is unlikely that I had manually changed that on s...

Re: A huge thumbnail blocks view in drag move/copy
My fc has that option ticked. This huge thumbnail is blocking view, I can't see what folder it is going to get dropped in. it is inconvenient. https://imgur.com/zFPwx38 It happens in windows also, though I have "always show icon and not thumbnails" ticked in windows folder options. With th...

A huge thumbnail blocks view in drag move/copy
I am recently noticing that when I select certain files/ folders and drag them to move/ copy to somewhere, a huge thumbnail icon appears at mouse point that hides the view in the folder-tree and file-list panes and I am not able to see where my mouse is pointing to. So eventually I have to drop &quo...

Re: How to open windows POWERSHELL
wow. This too.
It is even more convenient than in Windows, that has no direct icon or option anywhere to open powershell directly.
Thanks a lot.

Re: no way to open Command Prompt (Admin) from within fc
That is already there. :-) Thanks a gig. We have to define it. I don't know how many could do this. I wouldn't have been able to do it without your screenshot. it would have been convenient to have it predefined in Tools menu, right below good old "Dos Box", that we remember very well by n...

no way to open Command Prompt (Admin) from within fc
Also, I had previously mentioned but got no response, but I face difficulty because there is no way to open Command Prompt (Admin) though fc. the dos box opened through is without Admin rights. So, I had to open that through Start - Command Prompt (Admin) , and then I have to change to the partition...

Re: give a "HIDE" in rightclick context menu after Folder Search
wow. selecting, "export to container" from Menu - File, opened a new tab in fc, having all or selected entries, like those were the only contents of a single folder, and there I could do further actions selectively without loosing track. that is great, even better than a "Hide". ...

give a "HIDE" in rightclick context menu after Folder Search
When I press ^F and a new window opens in which I can search files (depending on criteria) and it shows the list of files that matched. then, I need to copy some of these files to a different folder. 1. I can select all listed files and then click one-by-one to unselect the files. quite a long way, ...

Re: v 750/ 751 download link not found
1. it didn't say that it was "donor" release. 2. 740 was public release, so one would have thought that after 10 donor releases, 750 will again be a public release, but no such luck. Anyway, we non-donors have no say in it. You can as well stop public releases altogether and make it a paid...

Re: don't "blanken" new file/folder creation name box
oh, drop down box having history of previously created file is already there. For years I have felt that need several times, but couldn't notice that small arrow and thus couldn't use. so I thought to post here. It is ok. may be if the drop down box appears already open so no one can miss it. Thanks...

don't "blanken" new file/folder creation name box
Every time we click new File/ folder creation command/ icon, we get a fresh box. Often we need to create several files/ folder which are named "similarly" with slight modification. So, it would be convenient if previous last used name of the file/ folder is presented in the file name box i...
