If this is to be an option [and not a mandatory change of behavior], then I would suggest making it by default be selected- i.e. dd size of sub-folders for their upper level folder

Tools > Favorite tools > Favorite tools edit...

user reads tools instead of toolbars

The Tools > Define actions toolbars... opens the window with settings for this feature which on its left side has two sub-windows with list of entries. Although user is allowed to adjust their width and height such changes are not remembered after closing of this window even if user used the OK butt...

Confirmed in Build 891 64-bit Donor Portable on Windows 10 Enterprise 20H2 19042.746 x64. Happens also for the Delete to recycle bin (FC) - no dialog variant

But if this can't be fixed then they should be removed as they just double the Delete permanently versions

Tools > Settings... > File/folder operations > Rename/Create > Use dialog window for rename

is a new option that I forgot about; thank you for reminding me about its existence. I will give it a try using it
