"Lock Folder Tab - Current" new option proposal [IMPLEMENTED]

#1 Post by Forez » 28.09.2020, 14:10

I would like to propose an addition of a new option concerning locking tabs

In a situation when the user has an already locked tab and navigates within it and decides to get rid of it while also locking a new folder in its place [the one in which the user is in a given moment]- then the user has to go twice to the right click menu: first the user has to unlock the current tab and then lock the current folder as a tab

So would it not be time and click saving if the user could evoke the right click menu just once - where the user could pick an option named something like "Lock Folder Tab - Switch To Current"?

OK, that checks out in version 840 public. But...

The new locked path inherits the name of the old one. And for me personally that is still counter-productive, because 90% of my locked tabs 90% of the time have their named derived from the name of the folder that they are showing. And so I still have to make extra clicks with mouse alternatively renaming performed with mouse and keyboard

And so I propose addition of yet another option. Aside from

Switch locked folder to current

there should also be

Switch locked folder to current - name from current

preferably placed above the one that already exists

I guess I must be the only one who thinks that this would be productive / logical

Yes, the tab name is not updated, but I'm not sure if another option would be a solution, too many menu options are not good too.

The best solution would be, if the name would be updated only if the custom name is not used, if the custom name is used, name should not be updated automatically.

BTW I'm using "-" as name - it's no name, and large custom icons - for locked tabs, so for me - no name, no problem. :)

Switch locked folder to current

Thank you for this update Marek
