Multi Rename error message

#1 Post by Bell44 » 16.01.2021, 03:27

I need help in the multi rename procedure. I have read the help items and searched the Forum on this subject and I have become utterly confused without finding a solution.

I have tried many times to multi rename 3 photos. I select the photos, use Ctrl M, type in the new name, set the counter to 1, with step by 1, digits 2 and select the Rename button.

I see that the 3 photos show the new name but the last 2 also contain a message "Cannot create a file when that file already exists" after the new name.

I have tried many ways but still cannot get multi rename to work - I know I must be doing something wrong but I don't know what.

I would appreciate someone giving me a simple explanation or steps to make it work.

My previous File Manager (xplorer²) made it a simple task and I have used it many times over the years - I want to avoid using xplorer² as I find Free Commander XE 2020 Build 840 32-bit public, does so much more for me and I prefer not to use 2 file managers.

enter in the file name field:
"your files' new Name"[c]

other settings for the counter as previously done

EDIT: [c] is the control sign for counter
