I'm almost embarrassed to ask, but....
I'm used to renaming files in Windows Explorer by highlighting a file then clicking on the file a second time to go into edit mode. That doesn't seem to work in FreeCommander - is there a setting for this or is this function not available? Changing the setting "allow rename on slow double click" doesn't seem to do anything, and I can't find any other relevant settings. I'm running the 32 bit version XE 2016, Build 715.
Any help would be appreciated - I would really like to make this work! Thank you.
Simple file rename question
Re: Simple file rename question
It works fine for me on both the 32-bit and 64-bit versions.
After you select the file, make sure your next click is on the filename text, not on the icon.

Re: Simple file rename question
Thanks Zorkoff, but that's not it - I tried again making sure I was on the filename itself but it just doesn't work. The only way I can get it into edit mode is to hit F2.
Re: Simple file rename question
Have you tried this?
This option may be in conflict with some options, single click options, perhaps other, I don't use the slow double click rename.Dreamer wrote:• Try to reproduce a bug with default settings and without the plugins. To do this use these command line parameters (your old settings file will be preserved):
/N /NewIni=FreeCommanderTest.ini /NoPlugins /Lng=English
Re: Simple file rename question
Thanks, Dreamer - using that command line allowed rename to work! As far as I know I'm not using any plug-ins, so I guess I have to start customizing my layout with the new INI file to see if it holds. If it goes south again, I should be able to isolate the cause if I test after each change I make.
Thanks again - I appreciate the help.
