Using cut paste to eliminate duplicates?

My PC's have been giving me lots of problems especially with Windows 10. Many files have been backed up to other locations on other HDD's. Now that things are starting to improve I would like to eliminate all of the duplicates.

For instance is it possible to say select all my photos(jpegs) or music(mp3) in one location & paste it into another location without windows making these pasted files copies? In other words compare the all of the cut files with the ones in the paste location & if they are the same I could delete them.

If so how is this done.

Thanks in advance

After activating the main menu item "Folder → Compare" or the shortcut "Alt+V" the contents of the folder in the left panel is compared to the contents of the folder in the right panel. The contents of files is not compared. Differences are highlighted in color.
