Using an external search program

#1 Post by mrlamest » 25.08.2017, 20:31

Is it possible to use an external search program? Before I paid for FreeCommander I purchased File Locator Pro because the Windows Explorer built-in search sucks and it's slow. I'd like to be able to assign File Locator Pro to the search function in FreeCommander.

Thanks.

"Everything" is a well liked search program. You can run it from the desktop, or from the context menu in FreeCommander XE. It's lighting fast, very small and unobtrusive, and very well designed.

You could add File Locator Pro to the favorite toolbar, then assign a keyboard shortcut to it. You can pass in parameters that way, too, if that is relevant. Anyways, at least bringing up the search interface would just be a keyboard shortcut away.
