when will 64-bit version go "public"?

#1 Post by vsrawat » 23.02.2019, 09:19

As the entire computer world is moving to 64-bit architecture, fc remaining 32-bit seems rare oddity in our all other or most of the installed programs already have gone to 54-bit.

when will 64-bit version go "public"?

Now 64-bit has become a norm, thus using 32-bit makes anyone stone-age.

You are releasing that only for donors, maybe you can consider releasing one 64-bit version for "public" "ONCE A YEAR". Other 64-bit updates during the years you can continue for donors.

In my "C:\Program Files (x86)" (Windows 10 64 bit) I find many "rare oddity", e.g. TeamViewer, Mozilla Firefox, Mozilla Thunderbird, Microsoft Visual Studio, Windows Defender, Windows Photo Viewer, IrfanView and ca. 50 other.
I do not have a problem with it.

You should have remained on 32-bit windows itself, or may be on Windows 95 or on DOS itself. You would not have had a problem with that either, I guess.

Why did you go to bugsy Windows 10?

I don't know about other programs so can't tell, but I am myself using -

Mozilla Firefox, Mozilla Thunderbird, IrfanView are surely available in 64-bit, why don't you download them?

Windows Defender is in 32-bit and 64-bit Program Files, folders, but you would noticed that its 32-bit folder's files are old ones. And new updated file is only in 64-bit folder, and probably that is what is being used by W10, God knows MS' peculiar ways of keeping two versions of the same program, when they prohibit the same for every one else. Anyway, thanks for bringing that to my notice, I was not aware of that. Now I will ask on some site how to remove 32-bit files of that?
