Single-click mode in FC is not exactly single-click

#1 Post by SVN » 04.06.2015, 11:59

Some people, including myself, prefer to work with single-click instead of standard Windows double-click (just like one normally does in Linux). One-click behaviour can be activated in Windows settings, FC, of course, respect those settings and supports single-click as well. Unfortunately, it is not exactly single-click behaviour, but some kind of hybrid one. To see what I mean, take a look at the picture. When I point and click within areas 1 or 3 all work as expected. However, focus does not follow pointer and single-click results in naught when in areas 2 and 4 (although, double-click still works).

I suspect this weird behaviour to be result of how single-click mode is implemented in Windows, but if it can somehow be remedied at the FC level, it would be appreciated. If it can not, well, thanks for great program anyway :-).

FreeCommander XE 2014 Build 650, Windows 7 SP1 64-bit (as well as Windows 8 update 1 64-bit)

I do not feel quite sure the following can be qualified as a bug (moderators, if so, please, feel free to move this topic to a proper forum), but I see it as a logical inconsistency and for sure as a pesky nuisance.

While in Details view, single click (there are 2 settings: one for files and one for folders) works only in the Name column.
Would be nice to work in other columns, too, if Full row select option is enabled.

Is there any chance the «problem» mentioned above will be treated and cured in future releases?
