Sub-folders with Group TrustedInstaller permissions not seen

#1 Post by DaveK » 10.01.2016, 18:49

Folders with a Security permissions for sub-folders having permissions for Group: TrustedInstaller do not appear in the parent-folder listing. I ran across this with C:\Windows\System32\Tasks\Microsoft\Windows. Windows Explorer does see those sub-folders with those permissions. In this case, the permissions are "TrustedInstaller: List folder contents", but changing them doesn't seem to have any effect.

You have FC 32 Bit version? Maybe http://freecommander.com/en/version-summary/.

That's it. From your link: "The folder “%windir%\system32” and its sub folders show different contents under 32 bit programs (e.g. FreeCommander)." Also, I looked at the whole tree structure of %windir%\system32 and the missing folders are quite prevalent throughout, and is not related to security settings or TrustedInstaller. Thanks for your reply.
