Build 707 General Questions

#1 Post by Conure » 11.01.2016, 16:43

FreeCommander XE 2015 Build 707 32-bit public beta release

I've been using the program for a few days and I have a few questions:

I can long pause over a file name to rename it - Can that delay, before the rename becomes active, be shortened?

I have (5) locked tabs. Whenever I click on a favorite, it opens in a new tab. After a few hours, I have a bunch of "new" tabs. Is there a way to open favorites in the same tab?

I can't drag tabs, even though the option to do so is enabled. Is there a trick to it?

My tree has no "My Documents" folder - How do I show that in the tree?

Thank you

I just donated $14

No problem if using F2.

Check your option "Open favorites in a new tab" http://www.freecommander.com/fchelpxe/e ... ement.html

Works fine here.

Thanks for the help, Karol!

Dragging tabs works now, don't know why it didn't on Friday.

Open Favorites in new tab, was checked. Works great now.

Didn't know about F2

Any idea on My Documents?

Any idea on My Documents?
Check setting Tools - Settings - View - Tree - 'Management' tab - Base folder

If it is set to 'desktop' - you'll see My Documents at the top of a tree.
If it is set to 'computer' or 'drive' - you'll have to find it in your <user profile> - My Documents

I have View set to Desktop, but don't see My Documents.

Another couple of questions:

When I click a favorite, is there a way to show the favorite name in the tab? Note that I have renamed my favorites.

I click on a favorite, but then realize that it points to a laptop that is disconnected from the network. Is there a way to stop FC from searching for it?

Thanks!

I have View set to Desktop, but don't see My Documents.
Under Windows 7 in Tree you should see
Desktop
Libraries
Homegroup
<User Profile name>
Computer
...
In <User Profile name> you can find 'My Documents', 'Desktop', 'Downloads', 'Music', ...

Yes, that is what I see in Win 7 Pro x64. For some unknown reason, I thought I should be seeing My Documents up there. Must have been a pre-senior moment.

Thanks

Under Computer, above C:\, at the top of the list, is a white folder icon which contains nothing, can't even r-click on it. What is that?
