After dragging the 'Filename' column width to widen it, when I either delete or rename a file entry, the width always snaps back to its former size. Is there any way to maintain the new width during a session without redefining the column sizes?

Tools - Settings - View - Column profiles - Define columns
Select Name column and set any desired options - you can set max width, unselect autosize, ...

Currently, as I know, there is no way to maintain any width that was set by you during a session
