FC hangs on delete/recycle

For about a week I've had an issue with "FreeCommander XE 2019 Build 790 32-bit donor" on Win8.1 Pro 32-bit. (And I was confused this morning when FC on both my PCs showed an Update popup, but when I went to donors page (link removed) I saw there was no new version.)

The issue:

When I try to delete/recycle (aka Delete and Shift-Delete) files/folders the process hangs and FC cannot be closed (even with Task Manager's End Task [which shows FC using a lot of CPU]) so I need to reboot.
Window's File Explorer has no such issue. The issue doesn't appear when I first boot windows/FC, but only after a while.

Sorry I know this isn't as precisely described as I wish it could be.

I guess it's just me? Maybe I need to un/re-install?

I can't reproduce it in 790a, perhaps provide more info, is it a local HDD, SSD, network, FTP, smartphone, desktop item?

There is a new version 790a, it's a kind of silent update, check the date, just download the latest version - 790 again, you will see the real version (790a) in program menu > Help > About...

Thank you very much for your reply, Dreamer. It happens with various local HDD's on both onboard SATA ports, and SATA ports on a PCI SATA card.

Maybe I should UN-/re-install...but I dread re-doing all the customization. (Maybe first I'll try restoring an OS drive backup from before this started.)

I just installed 790a, perhaps despite the release notes not mentioning it, this issue will be gone.

I had noticed the date but when the Zip downloaded wanted to overwrite (the identically-named) previous one, I had aborted it.

You don't need to reinstall, you can test with default setting, more info here: http://forum.freecommander.com/viewtopi ... 9&t=17#p28

Thank you very much dreamer, I'll try that IF the problem re-curs. It hasn't since I updated to 790a (though I might not have used it enough yet to elicit the issue).

However, since updating both PCs to 790a on Sunday, I keep getting the daily Update windows every morning (yesterday Monday [when I re-updated just in case] and now again Tuesday). I'm puzzled about what to do about being offered an update I already have daily.

Confirmed, I think it's a bug, because the version shown in the title bar is still 790, but in About dialog it's 790a.

You can change the option to "week" or "month" temporary, as workaround.
