The menu works fine. But the filenames listed in the explorer window is displayed as jumbled characters (square boxes). (Win 98 SE) Anyone facing a similar issue ?

Which languge version of Windows do you use?

Try to change the font for the file list: Extras->Settings->Color/Font.
Try to define the line: UseDesktopFont=0 in the freecommander.ini ([Form] section).
