FreeCommander v2009.02b, Windows XP S3, Coreldraw X5.
I'm having a problem with renaming/copying/moving Coreldraw X5 files.
I can use these functions with every other type of file in the same directory. With Coreldraw X5 files I get the following error message: "The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process".
Has anyone got any ideas?
For now I'll have to uninstall FC and use Windows Explorer again (Bleggh).
Coreldraw X5 permission issue.
Re: Coreldraw X5 permission issue.
Hi,
I would like to send you the current preview version of FreeCommander XE for testing with the Coreldraw.
If you like it, please send me an email address per PN.

Maybe that files are opened in Corel Draw?
I use Inkscape. For me is better than Corel, and, like FreeCommander is free!

Re: Coreldraw X5 permission issue.
Thanks for your reply stedanarh. The issue has been well and truly sorted by Marek.
I had to changes some of my settings. (View>Icons>Registered)
It works like normal.

Re: Coreldraw X5 permission issue.
Hi,
I know that this subject is a bit old but it is still not solved for me. The suggested change in the settings solves the problem with the cdr-files. Unfortunately it arises a new problem with the overlay symbols of tortoise svn. So I can decide whether I am able to work with cdr files or see my svn-symbols. That is weird. I just noticed the problem with the cdr-files again becaus I had some of them on my flash drive and was not able to eject it correctly. So I startet OpenedFilesView (http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/opened_files_view.html). And guess what: Freecommander had active file handles to every cdr-file it came by while I was looking in the folders of my flash drive. Could you possibly explain this behaviour? I would be glad if there was a solution working whith both: cdr-files and tortoise svn overlay symbols.
By the way: This issue holds even for the new Freecommander XE Build 532

@Tusor
Is it Windows XP?
Have you the possibility to test the same on Windows 7?

Re: Coreldraw X5 permission issue.
OK, the problem arises on my machine at work with Windows XP 32bit. At home I am using Windows 7 64bit. I just tried to open and save a cdr files. This worked with the extract icons setting. I do not have Tortoise installed here. That's why I cannot test this as well.
Re: Coreldraw X5 permission issue.
I Do like inkscape, too. But at work I'm forced to use CorelDraw. And especially the snapping is far better in CorelDraw. But this not the discussion. I'm interested in why Freecommander does not work well with CorelDraw and TortoiseSVN.
