Make Folder List

#1 Post by DADSGETNDOWN » 15.02.2012, 10:04

I did find a couple things on this, but I want to know, when you use the "Make Folder List:",
Is there a way to only show the file name and NOT the date and attributes and such ?

For feature requests or help, it would be,
(1) Adjust the out put to show/print only filenames
(2) Adjust the out put to show/print only Folder names
(3) Adjust the out put to NOT show/print file extensions
(4) Adjust the out put to show/print any mix of, Folders/Sub Folders/Files/
(5 Give an option to print to .txt and .doc maybe others.

For me right now, I am just wanting to know about my question, unless someone has information on the other things.

Maybe:
select all files
rightclick on copypath-icon
copy full name as text

if you want to have a list with with subfolders:
flat view
sort by path
select all files
rightclick on copypath-icon
copy full name as text

Not quite, Lets say you want a simple folder names list, because the folder names are the names of each album, so you have a "Music" Folder, in there you have folders of each "Bands" name, in each Bands folder you then have folders for each album, and in some cases an album folder maybe have disc one folder and a disc 2 folder. So if you can get just the folder names you have a good easy way to keep a list. Over and above that, you can set it to also include files in the folders, then you can have a separate list of the name of the album with the list of songs that are in it. No need for attributes or dates or any of that, not even a real reason to show a file extension, but if anything a file extension would be the first of all the other choices to consider having or not having included.

  • - Edit - Select all files
    - Edit - Invert selection
    - Edit - Copy name as text

Almost, still not correct. But I notice
- View - Flat View Folders (Which hides any files and opens up all folders and shows sub folders)
- Edit - Select All
- Edit - Copy Name as Text

Works okay, It is a lot of steps to take, that to me Make Folder List Should do and take care of.
And if you are trying to show the folder name and all the files in it you apparently can't do more than one at a time. Although I remember going through this years ago, and there is a Windows dos command to do just this but it is a lot of typing proper and a big hassle.
I also think I found a program that comes close I will check it out again and post back.
