You can use these plugins in FreeCommander, also in Quick view:

It took me a long time (several hours, in fact) to understand the above replies.
If you have already have Office installed on your PC, you don't need any plugins. Just select the file and press F3 to see the file in the viewer.
If you have office installed, then ppt and xls files can also be viewed in the internal viewer, though not included by default in the viewer options. And the "Configure internal viewer" options are not available in the settings file, open any file in the viewer with F3 and then F9 opens the viewer settings. Thereafter, add .ppt and .xls to the "as Internet" line

nice :)
What about files like pps or ppt ? I added xls to viewer and it works nice. with ppt or pps it wont work - it will only show binary characters.Marek wrote:You can try to add .doc and .xls in the dialog "Configure internal viewer" to the list of extensions "Display at startup - as Internet".
Should it work with all types of files or there are limitations ?
Omer.
NOt sure what this means, but even though I have MS Office installed on my machine, F3 doesn't display the contents of an Office file. Maybe it's because I do not have doc, rtf etc associated with MS Office but with Atlantis, a much smaller and quicker doc editor. Any alternatives? (Atlantis does have a nice internal viewer of its own .Marek wrote:You can try to add .doc and .xls in the dialog "Configure internal viewer" to the list of extensions "Display at startup - as Internet".
This means: Open any file in QuickView (2nd pane) with > View > QuickView or with F3 in external QuickView-window.Marek hat Folgendes geschrieben:
You can try to add .doc and .xls in the dialog "Configure internal viewer" to the list of extensions "Display at startup - as Internet".
Then rightclick on the titlebar of the QuickView pane an choose settings or click on "options" in the external QuickView-window.
On the tab "display at startup" add .doc.dot.xls.xlt.ppt in the line "as internet".
