Backup / Sync to DVD RW -- UDF format?

Hello users,
Does anybody know how I can use the Sync / Backup option of FreeCommander for DVD RW please.
I believe the DVD needs to be formated in a universal format UDF?
I cannot find this option in FreeCommander, therefore not use the sync option? Any suggestions please how to do this, if possible, or what other software would be required. Thanks, Gerard
