Why doesn't RAR file present as a directory, like ZIP?

FreeCommander automatically presents ZIP files as "folders", such that if you select a ZIP file in the Explorer Tree pane its contents will be displayed in the files pane.

Why doesn't the same presentation also occur automatically for RAR files, as one would expect it to?

Or is it just a setting I haven't got with the correct value that's causing this to happen? I've tried that "archive extension" item in Settings adding RAR. to the existing .ZIP (so that it looks like .ZIP.RAR.) but it had no effect, so maybe this setting is for something else.

Anyway, can someone help me?

I think FC is mimicking windows explorer's behavior (zipfldr.dll, cabview.dll, etc.).
