Rename dialogue box is behind window

#1 Post by cecr » 27.06.2013, 02:43

I've just moved to Win 7x64 and stayed with FC2009b. As the title says, when renaming files, I'm having to use alt-tab to cycle through the open windows to find the rename box. I never had that with XP.

Is there a setting to change it, or is it a bug?

I still use FC2009 occasionally on my win7x64sp1 and don't experience the problem. I've heard it happen to others, though... But 2009 version of FC is not maintained anymore, the author being focused on the next, much improved, FC XE version.

I know there is a new version in the works, but its still in Beta with as are as I know no date for final release. I've looked at the Beta and found it buggy (which is to be expected with a Beta release).

Although I know the author's time is limited as FC is a hobby, I don't understand the wisdom of stopping support for one version whilst the other is in Beta.... why trade a generally working piece of SW for one with bugs?

Still, if the options are having problems renaming files or trade for SW which may cause me more problems, I'll stay with what I have, and look at alternatives to see if they suit me better.

XE is stable enough, I'd change the status from beta to standard version if I could, it's much better than old version in many aspects.

BTW, regarding the final version of the XE:
