#1 Post by Akari » 01.05.2008, 19:54

I want to migrate from Total Commander to Free Commander, but I encount interesting problem. I can't move file by image viewer while directory opened by free commander (TC don't have this problem). Is there way to solve this trouble?

Could you explain more exactly what you mean?

For viewing pictures I use FastStone MaxView 2.1
It's very strange but when Free Commander is running I can't copy or move images from FastStone (C and M button). After I closing Free Commander everything working normally.

I think the following is a similar problem:
I get error from UltraEdit (assigned to my F4 key) when trying to save a file which is also viewed within FC.
UltraEdit says : Error creating backup file. This is an option of UE.
With FC not viewing the file - no problem.

After this a whole chain of bug events starts: I return from UE to FC, click on the newly appeared .bak file and the other pane gets blank ( the one opened with CTRL+Q for viewing.
In another try, upon closing FC, it start giving me endless errors of the type "Error at address blablalba...".

Well, I did. Same behavior. Here's more precise description:
  1. Run FC
  2. View a text file. Either with the internal viewer or the Universal Viewer
  3. Open the same file with UltraEdit.
  4. Edit the file and save - it's OK. Checked in FC that the bak file is created.
  5. Edit some more and try to save. UE gives an error message: Error Creating c:\blablabla.txt.bak
  6. Press OK and close UE. Get back to FC. The bak file is there.
  7. Exit viewer - the bak file disappears
FC deletes the BAK file for some reason and it shouldn't. I think this is ther root of the problem
