(comes back) shift panel pane focus on mouse hover

It would just be really convenient to allow ALL mouse controls to operate on whichever pane the mouse pointer is currently hovering over.
side button mouse - back .
over which control panel mouse - comes back (to level up) .
two panels right and left .
unnecessary to activate the panel - click.
cursor over any panel - auto-activation (come back) in the history of displacement

Currently only scrolling works like this. Would be nice to see back/forward support added.

I agree. It would be a very useful and user-intuitive feature.

Ctrl+Tab
Shift+Ctrl+Tab
(and these are customizable to your likings)

I meant auto-use these shortcuts if the cursor is over the other panel, inactive, just like scrolling with mouse wheel. I'm using HotkeyP to simulate tab switching shortcuts to mouse wheel left/right, therefore it would be useful to switch tab when I move the wheel left or right, without need to activate the other panel, also because it's not so easy right now.

I'd like to revisit this one with a question: is it possible not to automatically assign focus to the inactive panel when using back/forward mouse buttons while hovering it?
Currently, scroll on mouse hover does not shift focus.

This change would cause some internall changes - the risk for some new problems is currently to large for me.
