Font size of thumbs levels (setting)

#1 Post by JohnFredC » 09.09.2014, 16:22

The files I most frequently work with have long filenames. The filenames in thumbnail mode are almost always truncated on the right.

Please consider implementing an user option to adjust the font size of thumb labels.

Thank for listening!

Please check the option ThumbsNoClipCaption in the release 672 viewtopic.php?p=19529#p19529.

Hi Marek

Thanks for addressing this issue, but I find that the thumbnail "X" spacing seems to be capped at 30 in 672. I would use, say, ~100.

A couple of other ideas to address filename truncation in the thumbpanel:
  • 1) Enable an option for "wide" thumbnails.

    or

    2) User-defined "wrap" character (such as a period or hyphen) for the thumbnail filename text. XE would parse each name and "wrap" the caption at the assigned character. For instance:

    A-Very-Long-File-Name.jpg

    becomes

    A
    -Very
    -Long
    -File
    -Name
    .jpg

This example uses an hyphen but I would choose a period.
Thanks for listening!

Changing the max value for "X" spacing is not a problem.
You can use space as wrap character now.
