DOS command to "select file(s)"

#1 Post by Eugen » 12.01.2016, 09:05

I'm using Listary with the "Find as you type" feature for quickly finding and editing files.
In combination with this feature I oftenly use the Listary function "Open Folder" for showing the searched file selected in its containing folder.

Unfortunately this feature seems incomplete in FreeCommander:
Though FreeCommander opens a tab with the containing folder, the file is not being selected.

So FreeCommander would need a DOS command for selecting files, wouldn't it?

Sorry but there is nothing DOS related here !
This is an error in Listary which only works with explorer.
It only provides the path to the folder to other file managers.
This problem is for eample with FC or Total commander from Listary.

FC works perfectly by providing a full path to a file from the command line
provided by the calling program.
I do this with the search engines Hddb and Everything.
In all cases the cursor is postioned to the right file from the search results of both programs.

Try Everything search tool and configure it for FC.
They work fine together and are much better than Listary.
Windows 11 Home x64 Version 23H2 (OS Build 22631.3296)
Everything Version 1.5.0.1371a (x64), Everything Toolbar 1.3.2, Listary Pro 6.3.0.67
FreeCommander XE 2024 Build 905 64-bit donor
