Hi, I would like to have the following very simple column behavior:

1) All columns except "name" are fixed width (already possible, of course).
2) The "name" column automatically resizes to fill the remaining horizontal space in the window pane (but not more).

The reason is: I frequently use FC with different windows size or I switch between vertical and horizontal layout if file names are getting too long. Now I have to adjust the columns all the time. I NEVER want to have horizontal scrollbars, so auto-adjust does not do the trick. And a maximum width does not help, either, because then I cannot take advantage of changing to horizontal layout.

This is the one seemingly small but significant feature of Total Commander I miss the most. It would be great if you could consider this, Marek.

I second this. I was just about request this too. An auto-width setting for FreeCommander's name column would be really appreciated.

Oh btw. I would be willing to pay for this feature. So maybe you should think about integrating something like BountySource into your website.

you're the man! Thanks a ton for making this happen so quickly! Works exactly the way I wanted when resizing the TC window. I think this is the final piece making me switch from Total Commander for good.

There is one little glitch when using the Ctrl+H "Split Horizontal" command. In this case the columns don't resize, one has to press Ctrl+R for reload or switch the folder or something like that. No big deal, just wanted to let you know.
