Copy/Move/Delete operations

#1 Post by AimHere » 22.03.2017, 17:20

Hi,

In FreeCommander's internal Copy/Move/Delete dialogs, it would be very helpful to have a speed indicator, showing the current (average) transfer speed of the operation. It would also be good to have an estimated time remaining. I understand that coding these things to be [semi-]accurate can be tricky, and the average speed and ETR would no doubt change as the actual transfer rate goes up and down, but if Windows can do it in its copy/move, then so should FreeCommander.

It would also be nice to have an auto-scaling Windows 8/8.1/10-style bar graph showing the progress (and the changes to transfer rate over time) instead of (or in addition to) the percentage completed.

FC's lack of these features means I still stick with the Windows dialogs instead of the FC ones. But if FC added them, I could have all that plus the ability to queue multiple operations and other FC features.

Also, I notice that when queuing multiple operations, the Queue window lets you cancel/remove queued items except for the currently-in-progress operation (the one at the top). It'd be nice to be able to cancel even that operation from the Queue window. I'd also like to be able to see a progress bar for the current operation right in the Queue window (in addition to the queue bar at the bottom of the main FC window), as well as the ability to double-click an item in the Queue window to open its individual Copy/Move/Delete window (or bring the operation window to the front).

Yes i know the operation queue is visible. However,I need an option for the full progress bar window to stay on top so i could monitor individual elements and also to cancel or pause process with out to many mouse clicks. maybe on the operation queue bar have buttons to cancel , pause or view full copy progress window.

Excellent feature requests, I also vote for them. I would especially be glad to see estimates of speed and time for copy, move, delete.

I too would love to see the current average transfer speed and estimate of remaining time. Even a rough estimate is better than none at all and in most cases they're pretty accurate.
