Rename after Copying file to same folder - slow

#1 Post by GMONEY01 » 28.02.2013, 17:25

FreeCommander Version 2009.02b

After clicking on a file, copying the file, pasting it to the same directory:

The new file is the same name as the original file with "- copy" appended to the file name.
However, renaming this new file takes a very long time for the window to appear.
Otherwise, the rename function works very fast. It is only slow when renaming files copied into the same directory.

Thanks,
G

Renaming a copied file is not slow for me in FC-XE (Win7 x64). Because FC 2009 is not being developed any more, you could upgrade to FC-XE; it is a stable beta version. http://www.freecommander.com/fc_beta_en.htm

If you want to continue to use FC 2009, you might compare the renaming speed in Windows Explorer just to test whether the issue is due to FC or not.
