good day
I would like to ask for FTP.
I have a problem with copying files.
When I copy the file to the server in that location that already exists (overwrite), everything is fine and the transfer will take place immediately.
But if the copied file in the destination directory is not (copy) and click on the OK button takes 30 seconds and then to transfer the file.
Why copying occurs when the delay?
Thanks for the advice

FTP delay transfer
Re: FTP delay transfer
I am excited about this program. It's good replacement for Total Commander, but I have exactly the same problem as above (exactly same symptoms: if file exists -> program asks for overwriting and transfers files immediatelly, but if doesn't exist -> it waits for cca 30s and then transfer file). And if you transfer more files, it's very annoying and time consuming. I have
FreeCommander 2009.02b, Windows 7 64bit
I tried it as well with command line arguments
/N /NewIni=FreeCommanderTest.ini /NoPlugins /Lng=English
and it behaves the same.
Thanks, Michal Vašut

Re: FTP delay transfer
I ran into same problem with FC and proFTPd,
FTP command LIST /File.txt produces error
This is how newer proFTPd servers respond to LIST command, http://permalink.gmane.org/gmane.networ ... .user/5620
Any ideas how this can be solved?
Thanks.

Re: FTP delay transfer
I burnt one of Google's search servers
If using proftpd as FTP server you must use NoErrorIfAbsent in ListOptions in order FC and some other ftp clients to work without delay.
proftpd.conf
Thanks for the inspiration

proftpd.conf
Code: Select all
ListOptions "-l" NoErrorIfAbsent
Re: FTP delay transfer
There is no proftpd.conf in FreeCommander directory
