Sorry, not sure what that means. Does it mean that it will be added in the next or future version?. :?

I sort of asked for some of that in this earlier post:

viewtopic.php?t=1397&highlight=

Perhaps the MOD can combine the two threads into one, please?

Thank you

It's not the same, your suggestion is for Multi rename and - it's not possible to combine two threads / posts in the current version of the forum.

File Onwer colum !!!

#8 Post by cjn » 25.11.2008, 05:36

I just found the key to the Windows kingdom. The DIR /Q in DOS displays the owner of a file! NS! I'm probably late the the party, but the lack of a owner column in Windows file browers is an absolute piss off. Now that I found it in DOS I can get by, but this would be a major (and easy I would think) column choice in FC.

If we had this I'd never use Windows Explorer again. ;)

cjn: Owner information is easily displayed in Windows explorer by right clicking on any column description "Name" for example and ticking "Owner" (at least that's how it is in Windows XP SP2). If that's what you were looking for :?

Anyway in a multi-user environment information on file ownership is a must, hence I strongly suggest at least this property to be integrated in columns that FreeCommander can display. (for example TotalCommander was able to do this via a simple plug-in that was able to provide this or a number of other file properties) Furthermore, these attributes should be available in Search files/folders too; again in a multi-user environment searching for files on ownership basis is pretty much a standard operation.

Hi,

It would be great indeed to have other columns (those that are available in Explorer).

From a post on the new alpha release I got the impression that this might be coming up...

Kind regards,
Thomas
