What I want to you understand is the difference of opinion. You don't think it's narrow, but I do. Nothing more or less.

I don't understand what context you are using the word Narrow in.

I'm saying "Hey, there already is a way to do this without making any change."

I'm wondering if you were just not aware that it could be done that way?

That is where I click to change panes without losing the selection.
Don't you think that's rather narrow?
No need to reply. I know your opion is different from mine. There is nothing wrong with the difference as long as you respect it.

I guess I just don't understand what point you are trying to make, so I guess I'll just drop it.

Sorry, don't have time to read it all and explain now, just one screenshot with no empty space and one with missing "Paste", even if paste should be available - see the paste toolbar button - it's available only when you right click on empty space, but sometimes there is no empty space.

What happens when you click on the text just below the drive bar, the line that is highlighted in a blue-ish color and says "D:\Programs\OpenOffice.org\program?

Or right-click on the selected items to get a context menu? Or press CTRL-C or CTRL-X? Your files do not stay selected?

I'm running on XP. Are you running on Vista perhaps?

Oh yes!! Full row select is DISABLED when using XP, but ENABLED when using Vista! Check my post from 24.06.2008, 22:23.

Well THERE YA GO! We narrowed it down!

Is it an API thing?

Hopefully Marek can find a way to program it so that it is not API specific. Perhaps he can find a library to tap from instead of .NET or API or what not. It would be nice if the feature was "Platform Independent" in terms of various versions of Windows. Self contained instead of API reliant.

BTW, in Windows XP, there is a drag/drop/selection bug that does not occur in Vista.

Could all be part of the same problem:

I've recently read some tutorials for disabling "Full row select" for Vista and for Windows7.

I've test the method for Win7 as this is my new OS and it works...in windows explorer...not in FC. Could this be because my OS is 64bits? Could someone with a 32bit OS test this too?

I use as a temporary workaround the "FullRowSelect=0" string and I'm quite satisfied as I'm always working in details view.

I have the same problem as joby_toss. Although full row select is disabled by default in my Windows 7 64bit. It works in Windows Explorer but not in FC. :(

This is a Windows Explorer setting, not a FC setting. FC has ist own.

Ok, so how do I set this in FC? I know this thread is in feature requests but it's an old thread, maybe it's been fixed?
