-asking if the new version of FreeCommander was going to understand Windows User Account Control (UAC) and handle it properly.
I used to install FreeCommander as one of the first applications when installing a new copy of windows because it was so useful while setting up the machine, but these days administrative functions (like rearranging the start menu) are all mediated by UAC in Windows 7, and if the application isn't UAC-aware you just get tied up in knots.
Is there any indication FC XE will handle UAC? I'd love to come back to the fold of users, but for me proper handling of UAC is a key requirement for a file manager on Windows Vista or 7 onwards.
