cool feature would be the ability to compare 2 files and/or folder ..... of 2 different panes.

What about Menu > Folder > Compare? If you mean something else, explain exactly what you want please.

did you mean file comparing? it's not a file manager purpose, i think

it seems the menu > folder > compare ...... is just a quick filenames compare ........... it only compares the filenames ..... you can have two totally different files with the same filename and it would see it as identical.

Winmerge can only compare text files.

i do remember back in the old DOS days ..... hmmmm i think norton commander used to have a file compare that was quite accurate.

If you want to compare the file content, than use the function Folder->Synchronize...
